Developers have unveiled plans for the world's first sky pool. The ten-story high and glass-bottomed pool will be completely transparent.
Swimming pools are often extravagant architectural feats. Someone got the memo. Audacious developers in London have released plans for the world's first 'sky pool.' At 90 feet long, 10 stories above ground, and completely transparent, the sky pool will bridge the gap between two luxury buildings and allow residents to swim between them should they so desire. But cannonballers and divers need not apply: the water in the pool will actually be quite shallow—at just under four feet deep. Sean Mulryan, CEO of the Ballymore Group, the project's developers, said, "The experience of the pool will be truly unique, it will feel like floating through the air in central London." Residents will also have access to a rooftop bar, spa, and orangery and enjoy views of the Houses of Parliament. Apartments at the planned development start at just under $950,000.
